It’s still not too late to protect Earth’s biosphere

Like Caesar’s point of no return … was Stephen Harper “Crossing the Rubicon” in Durban?

Peter Kent/Harper withdraws Canada “legally” from the Kyoto climate protocols in Durban … omnisciently … all powerfully … without asking the people for consent.  Questioned in a real democracy by “radicals?”  Do mega-elite know best what is good for Canadians … the world?

1985, in Durban, P.W. Botha (a.k.a. the great crocodile) crossed the Rubicon to maintain apartheid. He sealed the end of apartheid.

Irony?  In Durban, Kent/Harper crossed Kyoto for Canada’s mega-fossil fuel industrial growth.  What are the stakes?  All human development can and will be trumped by unabated fossil fuel emissions … irrevocably.

In Durban, Canadian mega-industrial fossil fuels were clearly primal. Every climate conference … Kyoto to Durban … couldn’t stop Canada’s “sovereign” fossil-fuel industry.

Yes! Terry Lake says Northern Development will not be trumped by emissions (Jan. 7, 2012 Vancouver Sun).  Do all knowing … beyond question … neo-elite have “emissions” beyond question and science?

England’s Sir Nicholas Stern’s review of the economics of climate change wrote, first understand the “science” of climate (GHG emissions). Economics follow “scientific” understanding.

Is Obama’s “no” to the XL Pipeline … unless it avoids Nebraska … a caveat like Fish Lake? Trans-Canada Pipelines keep constructing. Taseko never stops. Pressure is on Harper/Oliver/Lake for delivering the Enbridge Pipeline. Are Canadian pipelines delivering Hell to Earth’s biosphere?

Elsewhere, Germany ends nuclear energy by 2022. Democracy commits Germany’s transition to “safe,” clean, local, renewable energy. The world can transition from its moribund dependence on fossil fuels as its primary energy source.

Cross the Rubicon with Harper? Cross Kyoto with Kent? Cross our own point of no return … with Lake, Enbridge and other pipelines?

Canada … ending its fossil fuel mega-industry… ending its pipe dreams … ending its only “winners” belong economic culture … can help human sustainability globally.

Real democracy cares for everyone’s belonging. Canadians! Keep every Canadian equal, free, and justly sustainable. Canadians! Honour our democratic value and dignity. Canadians! Protect Earth’s biosphere … now!  I swear … its not too late.
