Excuses create welfare state; mine would be appreciated

Would sure be nice if Williams Lake had a working mine west of town — Prosperity Mine.

Would sure be nice if Williams Lake had a working mine west of town — Prosperity Mine.

Donna Barnett has said she will do all she can to help achieve that goal, secure hundreds of jobs, create a tax base to pay for medical, government programs, etc. She has a can-do attitude.

Charlie Wyse says the New Democratic Party supports mining, except for Prosperity Mine for environmental reasons. He is making excuses for not working to secure much-needed jobs.

Any environmental theory is a good enough excuse — a can’t-do mindset. A working mine provides financial independence for workers.

Excuses such as “only if one blade of grass is not harmed” creates a welfare state where workers are not working and dependent on government for handouts.
