Editor:In response to the B.C. Civil Liberties Association report and rumours about our character and business:I encourage everyone who has heard of or been into Diamonds and Dust Entertainment Lounge to please read page 41 of the recently released BCCLA report. It cites a specific case in which our business was accused — allowing an intoxicated patron to remain. This patron in question was not intoxicated, and we believe there is no documentation to prove otherwise from the RCMP.We have no legal obligation to prove or disprove, but we want the public to know that all of the accusations are false.I have mountains of evidence to disprove the allegations. Please take the time to read the statement, keeping in mind that many details have been deleted, as to not compromise the case. We want people to know that what we are saying is true.We also want to make it very clear that we paid (in full) Mr. Nick Weekes for his equipment and stock. We had no further obligations to give Mr. Weeks any more money. Mr. Weekes signed a transfer document, to sign over the licence in June of 2010. We do not owe any money to Mr. Weekes or the landlord of the building. My mother and business partner Gail Boxeur and I have been investigated, only because of the compliance history of the licence, prior to our taking over. We also want to note that despite rumours to the contrary, we are not associated with organized crime in any way and have already taken legal action regarding slanderous chatter and will not tolerate ignorant, slanderous slurs any longer. We deny all allegations, and are devastated by the events that have transpired over the last several months. These are the facts.
