The Elks and the Royal Purple want to thank the residents, businesses and private individuals of Williams Lake for their generous financial support for the construction of a new wheelchair ramp and a new roof for the Elks Hall.

The present ramp was not up code standards and needed to be replaced. The ramp was not wide enough and to steep. This new ramp will be a great benefit for people with physical disabilities to access the Elks hall.

The Elks Hall also needed a new shingled roof. The shingles were over 20 years old and needed to be replaced.

We were very fortunate to have fundraised to make this happen. Mainline Roofing was awarded the contract to replace the old roof. The cost of the removal and installing of the new shingles was approximately $26,000. Mainline Roofing made an in-kind donation of $2,000 towards the project.

The cost of the ramp was approximately $11,000.00. Because of the generous donations, we raised $15,000.00 to go towards the new roof. We would also like that MLA Donna Barnett for getting us $10,000 that went towards the construction of the ramp.

The ramp was constructed by “The Carpenter” who did a great job building it. They also donated over $4,000 in-kind for the ramp.

Thanks again for all your support. Remember, it’s your hall too.
