Ms. French, a retired teacher and historian, has not checked her historical facts before writing this piece.
Firstly, the nude protestors were zealot Sons of Freedom. Secondly, to refer to that incident that happened many years ago was a bit of media posturing and thankfully, that kind of media reporting does not make headlines anymore.
Can I recommend an easy-to-read historical novel called Anastasia’s Amber that explains the difference between a small group that, according to Ms. French, “bared all” and the much larger, peace-loving group of Doukhobors?
