June 12, 1933 - October 18, 2021
William (Bill) Alexander Graham Telford, son of Kathleen and George Telford and grandson of Chilcotin pioneers Alexander and Anna Graham, died at Williams Lake Senior's Village October 18 at the age of 88.
After leaving the family ranching business in Alexis Creek, Bill spent a notable career in the Provincial Government, rising to the level of District Highways Manager. If you have driven one of the provincial roads in the Cariboo and Chilcotin districts, you can thank Bill for shaving off a corner or two and for a smoother and safer trip.
Bill is survived by his wife Edna Telford, with whom he shared his life since their wedding at St. James Anglican Church in Vancouver in 1953. The couple has five children: Nancy Myckatyn (William), George Telford (Alma), Shirley Pascas (Eric), Laura Telford, and Alex Telford (Maria), 11 grandchildren Jennifer Dunn, Laura Gramada (Jason), Elizabeth Tabbah (Will), Patricia Křivánek (David), Jeffrey Telford (Arianne), Sarah Dressler (Leif), Michael Pascas (Natasha), Graham Telford (Kris), Jacob Telford (Jordan), Tucker Gust, and Isabelle Telford. 13 great grandchildren (Naomi, Joshua and Alexander Dunn, Molly and Sam Gramada, Freyja and Leo Dressler, Isabel and Maximillian Tabbah, Noah and Liam Křivánek, and Bennett and Callum Pascas).
Bill is also survived by his brother Robert Telford and sister Louise Vernon, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his twin brother Norman Telford and his sister Olive.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Williams Lake Seniors Village for their kind and considerate care. We would also like to thank Dr. Paul Magnuson for his care of Bill for the last 30 years.
The celebration of life will be held in St. Peter's Anglican Church at 549 Carson Drive, in Williams Lake, Saturday November 6th at 2 pm.
