March 11, 1944 - March 30, 2021
Our family is sad to announce the passing of Wayne Stuart Kidd, on March 30th, 2021 at the age of 77, due to complications from Diabetes. Wayne brought his beautiful wife, Marlene, and his young family to Williams Lake in the early 70's after falling in love with the Cariboo lifestyle. He was proud to contribute to the community through his work as a Millwright, a Business owner (Airport Limousine Service) and an Entrepreneur.
Wayne was born on March 11, 1944 in New Westminster BC to Ruby and Crawford Kidd. He grew up in humble circumstances in Surrey with his 8 siblings and has lived, travelled, and worked all over BC. Wayne was known as a Jack of all trades with specific skills in Carpentry, Mechanics and Millwrighting.
From a young age Wayne showed an aptitude for mathematics and puzzle solving; he especially loved to tinker with machines. Wayne always had several projects on the go, even in his final days.
Wayne has gone on to join his beloved wife of 50 years, Marlene. Wayne often spoke of his loneliness since the unexpected loss of Marlene 6 years ago. Wayne is survived by his three children, Korene (John) Murchison, Denise (Chris) Waddle and Bruce (Kathy) Kidd, his 6 grandchildren (Diggory and Perry Waddle) and (Mitch, Nic, Kate and Lisanna Kidd) and his 5 great grandchildren.
Wayne is also survived by four sisters, Sharon, Lyndy, Colleen and Cleo, and two sisters-in-law, Hertha and Lil.
Wayne was a long-term member and soldier of the local Salvation Army Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage a donation to the Williams Lake Salvation Army in Wayne's name.
