February 21, 1939 - April 5, 2023
In loving memory ~
Victoria "Vicky" Wybou, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2023, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on February 21st, 1939, on a houseboat in Vancouver. In 1969, when Vicky was 30 years old, she trained as a nurse in the Yukon. Vicky then married her love, Gordon Emil Torgerson, who preceded her in death in 1996. Vicky and Gordon made their home in Williams Lake in 1975, where she lived until her passing. Vicky was known for her warmth of heart with her patients at the hospital in Williams Lake, where she worked from 1977-2003. She was an avid animal lover, having cockatiels, miniature horses, poodles and cats. They brought her much joy throughout her life. She also had a profound love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her "Nan". She loved watching them play any kind of sport and was always proud when they had a good report card. Vicky always loved her beautiful house plants, her Hoyas and Christmas Cactus were her favourite. Vicky is survived by her siblings Edna Olsson, Veronica Lippon and Chris Lippon, her children Julia Stukl, George Stukl, and Denice Davies (Dylan), her grandchildren Natasha Peeman (Duncan), Nadia Stukl (Sheldon), Adam Stukl, Erin Vedan (Kaysha), Cole Vedan (Dayna), Indigo Bzdel (Aaron); along with many great-grandchildren. All of these she loved deeply. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care/Hospice Nurses for their amazing care throughout Vicky's journey. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA.
