January 9, 1927 - December 25, 2018
Vera Gillette (Dodge) died suddenly on Christmas morning in the arms of her loving son. Vera was born on January 9, 1927 in Calgary, Alberta the oldest of 6 children.

As World War II was coming to an end Vera fell for a man in a navy uniform marrying Cecil Gillette and leaving her family to follow him to Victoria where she lived for 60 years and raised their daughter Marie and son Gordon. She always said she was lured to Victoria by stories that the city had Palm trees and flowers all year round. And it did! In her spare time Vera was forever seen with her knitting on her lap and has donated sweaters, toques and scarves to people of all ages.

Vera is predeceased by her brother Tommy, and sisters Gladys and Ethel, her daughter Marie, her husband Cecil, and her partner Art. She will be forever missed and never forgotten by her son Gordon (Lin) her granddaughter Tanya (Darcy) and her Great Grandchildren Christopher, Katie, Charlie and Kira, her sisters Alberta and Donna.

At Vera's request there will not be a funeral service and she has asked that her ashes go to the ocean to join her daughters.

Vera is very thankful to Doctor Glen Fedor for her care and to the staff of the Williams Lake Seniors Village where she enjoyed the past 6 years in Williams Lake.
