In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Velma Derrick at the age of 98 years. She was born in Kansas U.S.A. on August 4, 1923.
Velma lived in Oregon U.S.A. until January 4, 1955 when the family moved to 150 Mile House, B.C. She also lived in Williams Lake, OK Falls and then back to Williams Lake.
Velma worked along side Tuffy in the office of the Williams Lake Stockyards where her husband Tuffy Derrick managed for 30 years. She also loved to ride horses and she was a fantastic swimmer and loved to play crib.
Velma was predeceased by her husband Elmer (Tuffy) Derrick in the year 2000. They were married for 58 years.
Velma is survived by 4 children. Daughter Beverly Parent of Williams Lake, daughter Deana Derrick of Kelowna, 2 sons Clifford Derrick of Keremeos and Randy Derrick of Quesnel. 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Velma was out of a family of 12. She is survived by 1 brother, Bud McDermontt who lives in Hermiston, Oregon U.S.A.
A family gathering with friends will be held at a later date in the Spring.
