In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a Legend, Texas Napier Fosbery (Tex).
Tex was an inspirational human being, a man of many talents and adventures with stories to back them up. Born at Big Creek in the Chilcotin, he was a cowboy to his core, working on many ranches in the area until he went North.
When he was 20 years old, he, his father, and his brother Tony, went to 60 Mile in the Yukon prospecting. He always had many stories to tell of their adventures.
In 1954, he bought his first cat and went into partnership with Tony, forming their company, Fosbery Bros. Ent., building roads throughout North West B.C. and the Cariboo.
At age 75, he bought Stewart Landing at Mayo, Yukon, where he spent many great years.
Tex was an accomplished pilot. On one of his many flights, he took his Cessna 180 to the Beaufort Sea where he rested the floats of the plane on the shores of Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T. The 1970's took him back to the Chilcotin when he bought the TH Ranch.
On still another adventure, he took his jet boat on a journey of a lifetime from Hay River, N.W.T. up the Mackenzie River to lnuvik.
He knew people far and wide and touched the hearts of many. He was always positive, even when times were hard. His stories will live on for generations to come.
Tex leaves behind his long-time best friend and love, Carol Satre, and his four daughters: Jana, Joy (Dave), Patricia (George), and Margo (Stuart).
Grandchildren: Elijah; Sarah (Brendan); Tristan (Michelle); Megan (Richard); Kristian (Chelsea); Brendan; & Connor (Laura).
Great-Grandchildren: Brooklyn, Kyra, Kolby, Callie, Alisaundra, Kurt, Colton, Esme & Austin. Also his Niece, Joanne Fosbery (Jeff) and their son Vince; his Nephew, Alan Kennedy (Lucy) and their children, Mike and Blake; along with the many friends he made during his lifetime.
"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times."
