Aug 22, 1931 - Jan 15, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia Grace Rolph at Cariboo Memorial Hospital. Sylvia passed away after a short but very courageous battle with cancer on January 15th, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Sylvia and husband Tim, came west in 1953 to start their new life. She raised her family as a rancher's wife in remote communities such as Lytton and Aspen Grove. She was finally able to have the luxury of power and running water in the late 1960's when the family moved to Ashcroft. In 1982 it was a move to Horsefly, along with their son Bruce, his wife Lonnie and family, to continue ranching. In 2002, following the loss of her husband, she moved to Williams Lake and became a "townie" again.

Wherever Mom lived, she was an active and vibrant member of the community. The Horsefly Follies; Williams Lake Stampede Association; Williams Lake Seniors Activity Centre and Red Cross were just a few of the organizations she was actively involved in.

Her love of family was amazing.

She became a well-known "Nana" at the hockey arena; soccer and rugby fields; dance recitals; 4-H events and school plays as she seldom missed any event in which her grandchildren or great-grandchildren were involved in.

Sylvia is survived by her three children: Bruce (Lonnie); Susan; Tim (Susan); 5 grandchildren: Krista (Chad); Kara (Aaron); Tyler (Nikki); Amanda (Brady); and Lane. 8 great-grandchildren: Chantelle, Connor, Dexten, Adela, Kyan, Kage, Kacy, and Loxley.

She is also survived by her sister Margaret, and brothers Herbert, Alec and Harold. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Tim and granddaughter Jennifer.

Mom, Nana, G.G. will be lovingly remembered and forever missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 9th at 2:30 pm at the Williams Lake Seniors Activity Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations, in Sylvia's memory can be made to:
