September 19, 1952 - March 6, 2022
Stuart Victor Mackill born September 19, 1952 in Invermere, BC to John (Jack) & Kathleen (Phoebe) Mackill, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2022 at the age of 69.
Stu is survived by his loving wife Shelagh; children Jennifer (Shawn) Tinling, Lindsay (Eric) Burtt, Garrett (Jessica) Mackill and his fur baby and napping buddy Sophie. He also left behind his two beautiful granddaughters Hannah Brown and Payton Mackill who thought the world of their Papa.
As well as his siblings Jack (Susan) Mackill, Anne (Bill) Pistak, Heather (Larry) Thomas, Doug Mackill, Jean Fox and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Mom, Dad and brother Dan Mackill.
Stu married the love of his life Shelagh on September 2, 1972 in Williams Lake, BC where they also settled and raised their 3 children.
He worked for the City of Williams Lake for many years, where he made many friends and had a lot of great memories and laughs.
Stu spent many hours fishing, supporting his kids in all of their sporting events and crazy ideas and had a huge love for the sport of hockey (and baked goods). Many hours were spent in front of the TV watching the Canucks or down at the arena supporting the local teams. Where, (like Cheers) everyone knew his name.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Stu at 1 pm on Saturday, March 26 in the Gibraltor Room at the arena. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Stu's life. There will be coffee, tea and snacks, a slide show and open mic for anyone that may choose to say a few words.
Special Thanks to Renee Wohl (family and friend) for her amazing support and love and Angela @ Cariboo Chilcotin Funeral Services for her compassion, assistance and understanding during this difficult time.
