In Loving Memory ~
After a long battle with heart disease, Solange Renee Marchand passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on April 22, 2022, at Deni House in Williams Lake, BC.
Solange (Sally) was a beloved wife, sister, mother and mémère. Born on February 2, 1951, she was one of eleven siblings. She spent her childhood and young adulthood in Kapuskasing and Timmins, Ontario where she loved to dance, play baseball and ringette.
In 1994, a decision was made to move out west to Kelowna, BC with her husband and two sons. Once in British Columbia, she and husband Bob moved from town to town managing small resorts before settling in Williams Lake to enjoy the quiet life for their retirement.
Although a heart disease diagnosis took her by surprise, Sally continued to be the strongest woman you would ever meet. She was physically strong and even tougher mentally, always speaking her mind and standing up for those she loved.
She fought for years longer than any doctor told her to expect, taking in her grandsons' hockey games and listening to her granddaughters' stories for as long as she could.
Sally is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob, her sons Chad (Michelle) and Joey (Kristina), grandchildren Payton, Rhys, Liam and Harper and her 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
A celebration of life will be held this summer in her treasured hometown of Kapuskasing, Ontario.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Cariboo Memorial Hospital and Deni House for their kindness and care for Sally in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Sally's honour.
