June 10, 1936 - October 24, 2020
Sherry was born in Calgary, Alberta, and spent her early life in Trout Lake, BC. As a child, she boarded in Revelstoke for her schooling.
She met her future husband Jim while he was working in Trout Lake. Sherry studied nursing in Kamloops, graduating in 1958, and married Jim in Revelstoke in 1960. The following year they moved to Williams Lake where they raised their family.
Sherry co-founded Tots to Teens, a children's clothing store, and co-owned it from 1971 to 1978. She then returned to nursing, working as an RN at the Cariboo Lodge until she retired. She also volunteered at the Red Cross.
Sherry lived in Williams Lake for over 50 years and loved the Cariboo country. She also loved travelling, taking long driving trips and travelling overseas with family and friends. Sherry was very social and had a wonderful sense of humour. She bowled, golfed, played bridge, volunteered, and kept in touch with family and friends.
Sherry was diagnosed with dementia late in life and, in 2014, she and Jim moved to Chilliwack to be closer to family. Sherry passed just 29 days after Jim, her husband of 60 years, and is lovingly remembered by her son Wesley (Fiona), daughter Pam (Walter), as well as many nieces and nephews.
