In Loving Memory ~ Roy's family is heartbroken to share that he died, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 22nd at the age of 93.
Roy is predeceased by daughter Karolyn and grandson Trever and is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Jean as well as children Wade (Verna), Blair (Tammy), Greg (Lynda), Melody (Andrew) and Kirk (Deenie), 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous others he's filled in for as Grandad for over the years.
He is fondly remembered for his big (and strong!) hugs and his love and pride in his family.
Roy and Jean moved to B.C., first to Forest Grove and then Lac La Hache, from Musquodobit, Nova Scotia in 1956 with Wade. Once in B.C. they increased their family to six children and have been in Williams Lake since 1971.
Roy supported his family by working in the forest industry. He was a faller for many, many years. He retired in 1993 and his heart stayed close to the industry ever since, with most of his family following him into forestry related work. He loved most when he was visiting with friends, having coffee at Tim's and reminiscing about the old days, logging and the kids' trucking.
An Outdoor Remembrance Gathering will be held in son Greg's backyard at 685 Dog Creek Road on Saturday, October 30th at 2 pm.
Refreshments will be served and Covid restrictions will apply.
