Ronald Turatus, 57, passed away in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018. He was born to Herbert and Marlene (Imler) Turatus on May the 11th, 1960 in Golden, BC.
Ron moved to Williams Lake with his parents and brothers in the late 70's. He worked for 25 years at Lignums Ltd (Tolko), retiring early due to health issues.
He spent his retirement fishing, spending time with his step-grandchildren, going to church, researching his family ancestry, visiting and helping his family, friends and neighbours. Ron enjoyed the fellowship of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, watching his grandchildren play hockey and especially making pancakes with his step granddaughter, Brooke-Lynn.
Ron was kind and generous beyond words. He will be sadly missed by his mother Marlene (Imler) Davis; brothers Peter (Betty), Herb (Marilyn), Gerhart (Kitty) all of Williams Lake, BC, Rolf (Subbnam) of Burnaby, BC, and Ernest of Cobourg, Ont.; two stepchildren Tahnea (Warren) Bearhead and Lionel Alphonse; seven step grandchildren Shaylynn, Leah, Basil Jr, Brook-Lynn, Braden, Isaiah and Gezel all of Alkali Lake, BC; as well as nine nieces, three nephews, four grandnieces, grandnephew, many aunts, uncles, cousins, honorary children and grandchildren, friends and Church fellowship.
The family would like to thank the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for their support and kindness, the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment and the BC Coroner's office for their respectful way of handling the accident scene, the investigation and most of all the care of Ronald until he could be laid to rest.
Services will be held Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - 3039 Edwards Drive, Williams Lake, BC. A reception will immediately follow at the same location.
