In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) John Montgomery, on January 18, 2022, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident on January 4, 2022.
Robert was the eldest son of Alfred and Florence Montgomery of Quesnel, B.C.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, children Betty, Dale and Rose Chamberlain, seven grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; his mother, Florence Lavington of Salmon Arm, sister Shirley (Glen) Fillinger of Williams Lake, nephews David(Luanne) and Dean (Tracy) Montgomery of Quesnel, their families, Kevin (Kelly) Long of Vancouver, as well as many other relatives.
Predeceased by his daughter, Florence Eastman, grandson, Jeremy Chamberlain, father, Alfred Montgomery, sisters Stella and Sandra, brother Richard, great niece Natasha Montgomery.
Robert (Bob) will be remembered as an honest, hard working man, easy going, kind and generous. He lived and worked in Williams Lake, Quesnel and Okanagan, settling in Vernon. He was a self taught musician, playing guitar with various groups throughout the years, was involved in the Elks Club, enjoyed reading, card games, especially Cribbage and loved a good joke.. He was devoted to his family and rarely missed the weekly visit to his mom. He will be missed.
Our gratitude to the medical staff at Kamloops and Vernon Hospitals, and a special thank you to Betty Chamberlain, who has taken care of all arrangements.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
