On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, Reverend Robert Kelly passed away at the age of 87 years.
Father Kelly is survived by the members of his religious community, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate; many nieces, nephews and friends across the country.
He was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Georgina Kelly; brothers, Reverend James, Frank and Michael; and sisters, Ethel, Emily and Kathryn.
Father Kelly pronounced his First Vows with the Missionary Oblates on September 8, 1949 in Arnprior, ON and was ordained a priest on June 5, 1953 in Ottawa. He exercised his ministry at Vancouver, Mission, Williams Lake, Lillooet, Vancouver Island, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Chemainus, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake, Duncan, Prince George, Porter Creek and Teslin, BC; Edmonton, AB; Whitehorse, YK. He retired at Pandosy Place, Vancouver, BC in 1999, and moved to Foyer Lacombe, St. Albert, AB in 2007, then to Youville Home, St. Albert, AB in 2013.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, on Monday, February 6, 2017. Interment will follow at the Oblate Cemetery in St. Albert, AB.
