Raymond E. Johnson

1931 - 2010

It is with great sadness we announce that Raymond E. Johnson was taken from us on January 17, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ray was born August 13,1931 in Wood Hill, Sask. He moved to Williams Lake in the fifty’s, working in the lumber industry and then with the P.G.E. (BCR) finishing his forty-five year career as an engineer. He even managed to fit a little ranching in during that time in his life. He married Lorraine Wallace and raised a family of five children in the laketown. Ray was active in boy scouts, hockey, baseball, square dancing, 4-H, 139 Children’s Society and bowling. He loved fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities. He had an affinity with nature and natural things.

Ray was very loved and will be greatly missed by his family: wife Lorraine, and their children Rick (Carol), Alverna (Guenter), Marlene, and Kelvin (Violet); grandchildren - Loretta (Dave), Darcy, Regan (Melissa), Ryan, Devon (Chantal), Jessalyn, Rebecca, Jennifer (Corby), Ryan (Lauren); great-grandchildren; Chantel, Nathan and Brynn; his sister Patrina, many nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by son Patrick.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Engelbrecht along with the nursing staff in Ambulatory and Palliative Care and Dr. Southerland at Kelowna Cancer Clinic.

A Celebration of Life Tea will be held downstairs at the Legion on January 30, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers his family ask that donations be made to the B.C. Cancer Society.
