In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we would like to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Ramona (Kit) Nieuwenhuizen. Our mother was born and grew up in Penticton becoming a longtime resident of Williams Lake in her twenties. She and our beloved father Ty (deceased 2004) raised four daughters.
Our Mother spent our early years focused on the family. She baked daily, sewed us lovely clothes and participated in and supported anything we were involved in. She volunteered in many organizations including the SPCA, hospital auxiliary and Senior's outreach programs.
Mum had an adventurous spirit being a world traveler and never turning down the opportunity for a new adventure. She loved bike touring in Holland, zip-lining, white water rafting and anything else that sparked her imagination. She was a forward thinker far before her time. Mum was witty, gracious and kind to all. Her words to us the day before she passed away were "I had a fun life"
Ramona is survived by her children and grandchildren Gay Jones (Paul Stang) Marlon, Rylan, Aimee, Debbie Sykes (Gerry Chapman) Annaka, Tim, Sandra Holland (Jim) Brodie, Lacey, Charlene Ratzinger (Rick) Christina, Nicholas. Also her sister Norma Hassett of Vernon.
She was a fun loving G.G. to 19 great grandchildren. She also was loved by Penny Phillips and her sons Ian and Dustin and others too many to mention.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care extended to her by the staff at the Williams Lake Senior's Village who went far beyond their job descriptions in showing that they cared. We are truly grateful.
The family requests that you make a donation to the Vancouver Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
