In Loving Memory ~
Bud was born in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia and moved to McLeese Lake, BC with his family in 1964. He went to work instead of finishing high school, spending the greater part of his adult life working at Gibraltar Mine.
He received several awards from Gibraltar, for safe work practices and long term employment. After he retired, he loved to putter with old machinery and equipment, becoming quite the collector of "antiques."
In recent years he loved being at home, watching his favorite TV shows and was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour western novels.
Bud passed away at home in McLeese Lake, after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by brothers Douglas, Curry, Sheldon, Dennis and Ian; sister Dorothy Kelly, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by parents Harold and Ethel Purdy, sister Linda Smith and brothers Philip, Allan and a baby brother.
He will be remembered for his kind, quiet and generous personality. There will be no service.
