May 5, 1916 ~ March 27, 2017

Peter was born in Cochrane, Ontario and made his way, riding the rails at an early age, to the west coast. He lived through the depression, encountered a locus plague in the prairies and was in the Air Force in WWII. Peter was there when automobiles came to be and learned to be a mechanic. He started his own Taxi Cab business, worked in the logging camps on Vancouver Island. He finally landed in Williams Lake in 1958 and was the owner of Cariboo Mobile Welders for 35 years.

He loved to fish on his boat the Ne Plus and spend time gardening in his later years. He lived a full life and made it to 100.

Peter had spent the last 2 1/2 yrs at Deni House and the family would like to acknowledge, with great appreciation, their care and support and also along to Dr Magnuson. They also would like to thank Shirley Marcotte who became like a daughter in her caring for Peter.

In the afternoon of March 27 he went off to better fishing grounds with his daughter by his side. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Andrunyk , grandson Steven Casey and granddaughter Samantha Casey.

He is predeceased by his parents Dmytro Andrunyk and mother Paranka Bazowski, both immigrants from Austria and eight siblings and his son-in-law Clive Casey.

Peter’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life downstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday April 6, 2017 at 1:30 pm with light refreshments provided.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
