January 12, 1927 - September 21, 2019
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Norma Louise Burgess (nee Bartley) at her home on September 21, 2019, at the age of 92.
She is survived by her loving husband Frank, her children Louise (Stan) MacLean, Wendy (Larry) Johansen, Bonnie (Lloyd) Griffith, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Norma was born in Headingly, Manitoba on January 12, 1927, the fifth of six children. She met
Frank, the love of her life, at Copper Mountain, BC. They were married in 1950 and settled in Williams Lake in 1952. Together they started a family business which grew into Burgess Plumbing,
Heating and Electrical Co Ltd.
Norma was a loving, wonderful mother and a strong hardworking partner for Frank. She loved animals and had a deep appreciation for the Chilcotin country and its wildlife. She enjoyed exploring the Cariboo backroads with visiting friends and family.
In her later years she was cared for at home by her compassionate caregivers, Ruth, Kristy and Yvonne, to whom we are eternally grateful.
A celebration of Norma's life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williams Lake SPCA or the Scout Island Nature Centre.
