In Loving Memory ~

The family of Nick Kirechuk is saddened to announce his passing on the early morning of Feb 12, 2024, with his loving wife Marion of 50 years by his side.

He fought a brief battle with cancer. Nick was born on Nov 27, 1951 in Lac La Biche, Alberta. He had moved to Edmonton for work, where he met Rennie (Marion's stepdad), who brought him home one day for dinner. That is when he met the love of his life, Marion, and they were engaged on November 20, 1971. In 1972, the family moved to the BC coast for work; then, they moved to Williams Lake, Nick was hoping to get on at Gibraltar Mine.

Nick was hired at the plywood plant in December of 1975, where he spent 28 years. He moved up in various positions, ending in log quality for West Fraser. Nick and Marion purchased a home in Wildwood, where they raised their family. Nick had a great love for Horsefly Lake, and they purchased a lake lot in 1981. They built a cabin with their own hands, which was then expanded into a house where they retired.

Nick loved fishing, woodworking, and playing horseshoes, and then he began enjoying the game washers. Nick especially enjoyed time spent visiting with family, friends, and neighbours.

Nick was predeceased by his parents and brother John.

Nick is survived by his wife Marion and sons Kelsey (Sunni), Kevin, and Allen (Latisha). Grandsons Kruz, Darian and Vaughn. Siblings (Berna), Helen (Ranny), Paul (Judy), Bill (Deb) and Jeannie (Herb).

A celebration of life will be held July 13th in Horsefly.
