It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Strachan on May 26th 2018. Mike had severe liver problems and fought courageously for a number of years. He lived in the Cariboo most of his life, working in the logging industry and then in the grounds division of School District 27. He loved to hunt and fish and took pride in teaching his skills to his two daughters, Amanda and Chelsea.
Mike and his wife Nancy spent many summers on their boat on Quesnel lake, together with their golden lab "Keno" or with many different friends and relatives. Mike was at his happiest when he had a fishing rod in one hand and a cold beer in the other.
At Mike's request there will be no service, instead he would just like everyone to raise a glass of their favourite beverage in the comfort of their own homes.
Mike leaves behind his wife Nancy, daughters Amanda (Eirik), Chelsea (Jesse), his mother Betty, sister Penny (Ron), brother Bruce (Regina). Mike will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren Keegan, Konnor, Kaylee, Kolbee and Kienna; and his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to our local SPCA.
