In loving memory ~
With immeasurable sadness, we announce the passing of our kind, courageous, funny, brave, humble, husband, father, son and brother Mathew James Kent.
Mat was an unbelievably kind, patient, and strong man. He had the hugest heart and the ability to make everyone he met laugh and feel comfortable.
Mat lived his life to the fullest. World travelling, snowboarding, camping, road tripping, vehicle loving, golf playing, parts mastering, playlist making, party dancing, Caesar tasting, hiking with all of his favourite girls, hanging with the boys, and spending time with family, among so many other things. Everywhere that Mat went, he made lifelong friendships, and he maintained lifelong friendships with those he grew up with. Everyone can be heard saying they "just love Mat".
Mats greatest joys were his daughter Isla "Bo-bisla" and his wife Ky. Mat fought his cancer tirelessly to stay here with them, and could be heard uttering one liners along the way(or referencing The Office, Parks and Rec, The Grand Tour, and Community), forever making his girls, and anyone around him, the happiest they could possibly be. His goofy, kind, loving demeanour shone always, even on his hardest days, and can be seen so very much in Isla.
Mat is greeted above by his brother-in-law Caleb Gill, and grandparents Marion + Murray Lowrie and Malcolm Kent.
With shattered hearts he leaves behind his wife and daughter, Kylie and Isla Kent, his parents, Jeannine and Reg Kent, his sister, brother-in-law and niece Christine, Jarrett, and Spencer Brochu, his Granna, Sheila Kent, his parents-in-law Chad and Malinda Gill, and countless friends, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents, all of whom loved Mat beyond measure.
Mat, Kylie and their families appreciated beyond what can be scribed, the support that was received throughout Mats battle with cancer, allowing Mat to grow roots for his family in the place he came to call home.
Please join us for the Celebration of Mathew Kent's life, Saturday, April 15th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Big Lake Hall.
Mat had hopes of all of those he loved coming together in the place where he spent his best and hardest years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in trust to Isla James Kent.

"Goodbye for now Song
I Wish I could stay
Be a part of it all
Watching you grow
From being so small
Wish it wasn't this way
For you ,For her, my everything"
-Written by Mat

We will miss and love you forever Mat.
