Mary Anne Elizabeth Comeau of Williams Lake, B.C. passed away surrounded by the love of her 4 children February 19th, 2025 in her residence at the Seniors Village. She was born July 25, 1943 in Saint John New Brunswick to Alfred and Edith Comeau, and she is predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Ron, William and David.
Mary Anne was a waitress at the Moon Palace (restaurant) in New Brunswick, where she met Steve Chan the father of her children. The family moved to Williams Lake in the winter of 1979. Mary Anne served for 15 years at Ken's Restaurant for Peter and Emmy Chan. Her determination, independence and work ethic contributed to her building a small successful cleaning business called Mature Attentive Cleaning.
People remember her as an avid bingo player, eventually working for Lucky's Bingo Hall in the concession, and playing in the Tuesday night bowling league for many years. Her favorite things to do were, reading fiction and enjoying time with her family playing cards, board games, video games and Mahjong.
Mary Anne is survived by her children David (Lani), Jamie (Cheryl), Kim (Eric) and Leigha (Kurt), her grandchildren - Cavan, Steven, Kristin, Austin, Taylor, Sara, Jayden, Evi, great grandson Benjamin and 30 nephews and nieces. Her second great grandchild will be born in March.
If you knew and loved Mary Anne, you knew she loved hugs. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you give someone a hug.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 15 in the gardens at 920 Hodgson Rd, Williams Lake, B.C., from 3 pm to 6 pm.
