Gail Kathleen Marsh (Vaness) 1940-2011

Gail, a long time resident of White Lake and Salmon Arm BC, has lost her battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at Red Deer hospital with family at her side.

Gail was born to John and Kathleen Vaness of Horsefly B.C. on June 18, 1940 and was raised in Beaver Valley on the family ranch. She was second oldest of 4 children. Brother Ian, sadly missed (deceased 2000), Glady & (Keith) Bontron of Williams Lake, Joane (Bob) Boehm of Williams Lake. She is also survived by Daughter Teresa (Stan) Oja, Grandchildren Adrienna, Kanise, Rose and Graham of Sylvan Lake, AB as well as many nieces, nephews and family.

She was proud of being Williams Lake Stampede Princess of 1958 and also her career in hairdressing.

Gail married the love of her life in 1964 Jack Marsh (predeceased 1976). Mom loved life, gardening, dancing, playing cards, salmon fishing, horses, going somewhere warm, dragonflies, and gathering of family & friends. Maybe not in this order!

Gail also spent many years with companion Tom Schieber (deceased 2000) and Murray Bruce (deceased 2011).

Gail will missed by many. Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Gail to be held at Fischer’s Funeral Services, Salmon Arm BC, Friday, August 12, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.
