December 16, 1930 - October 13, 2020
Born December 16, 1930, peacefully passed away in Cariboo Memorial Hospital on October 13, 2020.
Born in the farming community of Carnduff, Saskatchewan, patience, hard work and humility came naturally to Marion.
She met her husband George in a remote fly-in mining community in northern Saskatchewan and a marriage of almost 61 years followed.
They moved to various mining communities and eventually settled in Williams Lake in 1971, where she worked as the bookkeeper for Williams Lake Homemakers while raising their two children, Bert and Sandra.
Once retired, she and George volunteered for Meals on Wheels, joined the quilters at the Seniors Centre and she continued her work with the United Church.
She delighted in her grandchildren, McKenzie, Marlowe and Robyn, and they in her.
A quiet, steady presence as a wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, Marion always looked for a way to pitch in, help and be supportive, without, as she said, "getting in your road".
Plainspoken and kind, Marion was a model of common decency. You always knew she was in your corner. We will all miss her terribly.
During these troubling times, no service has been planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's name can be made to the Williams Lake and District Seniors Activity Centre, 176 4th Avenue N Williams Lake BC V2G 2C7, as well as Saint Andrews United Church.
