In Loving Memory ~

With deep heartache, we announce the passing of Marion Anne (Stone) Pilkington on February 1st, 2024. Marion was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. Marion was born on September 28th, 1954, in Kamloops, BC, to Anne and William (Bill) Stone.

She grew up in Lac La Hache, BC, until she was 12. Marion attended Lake Hill Elementary School and lived in a cabin by the old Emerald Bay Resort until moving to her family home in Blackwater, on the other side of Lac La Hache. Bill, Anne, and their children, Herb, Ken, Marion, and Lynda, moved to Richmond, BC, in 1966. In 1971, Bill, Anne, Marion and Lynda moved to 100 Mile House, where Marion finished her schooling.

Marion then met the love of her life, Daniel (Dan), and married in 1975. Dan and Marion had their first son, Gregory (Greg), in 1977. Their twin boys, Scott and Kevin, were born in 1978. In 1980, Dan and Marion built Marion's dream log home in 103 Mile, BC. They then moved to Springhouse for work in 1986. Dan and Marion purchased their forever home in Williams Lake a year later. Throughout her life, Marion worked at Weldwood Mill, ran equipment with Dan, and was an incredible seamstress at E&E Sewing. Eventually, she was one of the hardest workers at Zellers in Wiliams Lake, ready to greet and help customers with a beautiful smile for many years.

In 2010, Marion had brain surgery to remove a tumour, which caused a stroke and partial paralysis. Despite this adversity, Marion continued to do the activities she enjoyed, such as visiting new countries, hosting turkey dinners, and spending time with loved ones. Marion is survived by her husband Dan; children Greg, Kevin (Teena), and Scott; daughters-in-law Tasha, Chelsea, and Blanche; father-in-law Don (Marlene); siblings Herb (Sandra), Ken (Sharon), and Lynda (Glenn); grandchildren Kyley, Mattea, Ayla (Megan), Keanna, Kaiden, Taylor, Logan, and Hope; great-grandchildren Keenan, Londyn, and Sophia; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Marion was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Anne Stone; mother-in-law, Rosalie Pilkington; brothers-in-law, Jim (James) Pilkington and Gregg Tio; and nephews, Jody Pilkington, Mike Pelky, and Tyler French. Marion loved her family; they meant everything to her. She welcomed everyone into her life with open arms. Marion lit up around animals and had special bonds with all of her pet cats and dogs. She loved spending time outdoors and volunteering, especially for her boys' extracurricular activities like Scouts. Marion enjoyed going for walks, sewing, camping, travelling, cooking, and gardening.

Marion truly was a kind, loving, and thoughtful soul. We love you, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mom, Gram, and forever friend. The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out and has shared their condolences; it means so much to all of us.
