After a courageous and tenacious battle with Ovarian cancer, Maria Noemia Delay (nee: Ferreira) went home to Jesus on Friday, February 4, 2011. Noemia was surrounded by her loving family and in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Noemia was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal on March 20, 1951. Noemia will be deeply missed by: her devoted and faithful husband, Emil. Her son, Daniel (Tanya), her daughters: Laura Berkhoven (Dwayne) and Diane Uri (Chris), her eight grandchildren: Chryslin, Brianna, Austin, Michael, Mikayla, Jacob, Aleena and Aidan, her father Jose Ferreira, seven siblings: Joe, Maria Branco, Horace, Fatima Warner, Martha Primus, Victor, and Susan Ropchan and many in-laws, numerous nephews and nieces,
and countless friends.
She was predeceased
by her mother Elvira.
Noemia was a servant of God’s word and of God’s people, she was also a prayer warrior whose prayer was unceasing even in her own battle. Noemia’s love of family, sense of humour and laughter will never be forgotten.
A funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Cariboo Bethel Church at 1pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Pastor Rich Phillips officiating.
