Margaret Sarah MacLeod passed away peacefully at Deni House on June 28, 2017 at the age of 90.

She will be missed by her loving sons Jesse Stowell (Dawn), Jim Stowell (Shiloh) and Steve MacLeod (Jenny) Margaret is also survived by two sisters, Lil and Shirley, and pre-deceased by sister Hazel and brothers Howard and George. Margaret loved her grandchildren OJ and Sheshawna, Marlon and Rylan and Aimee, Lacie and Nolan, and her 19 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and some cousins.

Margaret was a school teacher and was trained when Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria was used as a school during World War II. Her first teaching job was near Creston,BC and she moved to the Tsilhqot’in in 1949, teaching at Riske Creek, Glenco, Meldrum Creek and Williams Lake area.

She maintained lifelong friendships from every stop and, in an age when letter writing is a lost art, wrote an average of 10 letters per week throughout her life.

She lived on her own in Quesnel until the end of April 2017. Then she moved to Meldrum Creek and was lovingly cared for by her grandchildren, Rylan and Liz Stowell, for the last 2 months of her life.

Mom was thankful to her children, grandchildren, family and friends to the end, and her last words were, ”I love you.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Legion Hall in Williams Lake. There will be tea, coffee and sandwiches served.
