July 24, 1937 ~ July 11, 2017


Corky passed on July 11th in Prince George. He was born on July 24th, 1937 in Lubbock TX to Jim and Vivian Williams and grew up in the small West Texas town of Van Horn. He attended Texas Tech University and received a degree in Theater Arts.


In 1971 he moved with his family to Anahim Lake where he ranched for twelve years. When an accident made it impossible for him to ranch anymore he turned to his love of theater and for the rest of his life appeared in theater, film and live entertainment. He was best known in the Chilcotin-Cariboo for his cowboy poetry. He appeared at the Williams Lake Cowboy Christmas shows, the Kamloops Cowboy Festival and many other shows around BC. He was also a musician and loved nothing better than playing Bluegrass on his mandolin and telling stories about the cowboy life. He was loved by his many friends ands fans of his shows, for his unique personality and sense of humor.


Corky is survived by his brother Jaston Williams and his sister Nina Brown; his daughters Dana Williams and Raylene Celaya; his sons John Williams and J.D. Wartchow; six grand children and four great grandchildren.


The family is especially grateful to the staff of Senior’s Village for their many kindnesses during his time there.
