Lorne Johnson, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021 at his home in the Senior's Village. He was born December 23, 1940 to Alvin and Alta Johnson in Unity, Saskatchewan.
He married Beverly Stevens in July 1966 and in 1968 he and Bev moved to Williams Lake with their young daughter. Over his years in Williams Lake, Lorne worked as a draftsman and held multiple positions at a local mill.
Lorne loved the game of hockey and volunteered many hours as a coach and president of the Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association. Lorne took full advantage of all that was offered in the cariboo and spent many hours fishing, hunting, and camping.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Bev, in 1989. He is survived by his children: Patti (Jason), Kari (Jim), Daryl (Andrea); his grandsons: Lorne, Darren, Mathew, Derek, Kevin; and his siblings: Elaine, Judy (Frank), Carol, Ches (Gertie); and many nieces and nephews.
Lorne's family would like to thank Dr. Routtu for his ongoing support and care and the staff at the Senior's Village for the kind and compassionate care that Lorne received in his last few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial plans to be announced at a later date.
