February 25, 1927 - December 4, 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Bud McLean (Lloyd Irwin McLean). Bud was born in Huntington BC and died at the tender age of 94 at the Williams Lake Hospital. He was a dreamer, artist, writer, film maker, adventurer, doer, hard worker, a visionary, helper, an avid reader, and a gifted storyteller. He had a keen sense of wit and could verbally spar with the best of them. He touched the lives of many people over the years and was an inspiration to many around the globe. He had a great love for his family and for his beloved Chilko Lake. He was a walking historian on Chilko Lake having spent 65 years of owning, operating, and guiding a wilderness lodge and outfitting business. His last guiding job in August of 2021 was sharing the day with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids up Chilko Lake. Thanks to Covid it was the first time in the history that all of us were together and being able to relax and enjoy Chilko at the same time. He was not only our dad but a friend, mentor, advisor, and a guide on this thing we call life. He is much loved and is sadly missed by his kids, Nancy, Larry, Janey and Karen. By his grandkids, Kalin, Jerica, Michael, and Lauren. Two great grandkids, Emersyn and Finn.
Cheers Pop to your most beautiful next adventure and see you on the other side!
We will be celebrating the life of Bud in the spring or summer of 2022.
