June 5, 1929 - July 24, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of husband and father Leslie Leo Sailor on July 24, 2021. He was born June 5, 1929 in Montgomery City, Missouri, graduated from high school in Laramie Wyoming and at 18 years old enlisted in the United States Navy, graduated bootcamp with honours and was awarded the position of Honour Man, making him eligible for Westpoint.
After serving he worked in many fields including heavy construction, powerdams, linesman,carpentry, welding and graduated from heavy equipment school.
The next chapter of his life brought him to Sunlight Valley in Cody Wyoming where he worked on all the ranches in the valley.
1963 found him in The Dalles, Oregon for work where he met and married his wife Carol (Darnielle) Sailor. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this October.
Les and Carol immigrated to Canada in 1971 where Les managed the Circle W Ranch in Big Lake BC. He worked at BC Livestock and went back into construction for a period of time. In 1977 Les and Carol bought their own place on Knife Creek Rd., raising cattle, hay and other livestock.
He leaves behind his loving wife Carol, children Cassie (Glen) Blain, Cameron Sailor, Andy (Peggy) Sailor, Abby (Kevin) Wilson, Jenny (Lloyd) Koster, Zachary (Crystal) Sailor as well as 14 grandchildren.
The family has held a private service. Donations may be made in his memory to the Vancouver Children's Hospital.
