Leonard George Simon

Leonard was born November 10, 1923 at Monroe, Washington. His father owned a shingle mill, and as soon as he was old enough he would go to the mill after school and help out. That was his introduction as to what made and kept machinery working. He also learned the art of welding.

In his Junior year of high school, he started dating Martha (Marty) Sielaff, they were married in 1941 and moved to Williams Lake in 1954.

Len treasured the wonderful friends he had to the very end. He was pleased his son Martin chose working in the lumber industry and got so much pleasure from his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He often remarked that he had lived and experienced the best of times.

Leonard was predeceased by his parents, his son Jack and daughter Carolyn. His is survived by his wife Marty (of 68 years), his son Martin, grandson Glenn Funfer, granddaughter Lesley Wasyliw, granddaughter Elise Mitchell and their spouses. Three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Also his brother Warren & his wife, sister Joan Reed, sisters-in-law Lilli Hill & Jane Short, brother-in-law Don DeFord & his wife. Nieces, nephews & cousins.

Come join in the “Celebration of a life fully lived & loved” - with his family July 25th at McKinnon Hall - St. Andrew’s United Church at 2:00 pm.
