Leo Raymond LaFlamme

Leo was granted his angel wings on December 7, 2011 with his loving and devoted family at his hospital bedside.
Leo was born October 24, 1940 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to the late Louis Phillip LaFlamme and Leonie Regina Cheze. He was the 6th child (3rd son) born of 8 children.
In 1958, Leo moved with his family to Horsefly, BC and 3 years later met Darlene Turman, his perfect compliment. In 1963 they married while Leo was working for H J Gardner & Sons. In 1964 they started their family and soon after moved into Williams Lake where Leo worked for Merrill Gardner, Merrill Wagner and finally Weldwood of Canada until he retired in 1996 at the age of 56.
Leo will forever be cherished and in the hearts of his children: Jackie, Connie (Kelly Hordiuk), & Leo Jr. His grandchildren: Drew Wood, Curtis & Mitchell LaFlamme, Tashina Hordiuk and many foster grandchildren. His devoted brothers & sisters: Emanuel (Lil), Marcel (Phylis), Patricia (Tom Walker), Rose Beaudry & Liz Moysir along with many nieces and nephews. Leo was predeceased by his brother Joe (1969), his sister Marie Houston (1996), his brother-in-law Ralph Beaudry (2003) and his adoring mother-in-law Lorena Ayres Finkenbinder (1985).
Leo touched everyone’s life who he crossed paths with in some way or another, whether it was a lively story, a great piece of advice or teasing you and smiling through his bright eyes.
He will be so dearly missed by all of his family and friends. His passing has left a huge void that will never be filled. Love you bunches ~ miss you more.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of life with reception to follow on December 18th, 2011 at 11 am at the Elk’s Hall.
