In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Katherine Fix (Bergen). She lost her battle with cancer on April 20, 2022.
Laura is survived by her loving husband Ken Fix, brothers John (Linda) and Ted (Avis) Bergen and her sister Betty (Rich) Klaver, daughters Debbie Schellenberg (Randy), Carol Fix (Russ), Cindy Laidlaw (Jim), six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Jake Bergen.
Laura loved camping with her husband, Ken, and they made friends wherever they went.
In the over 65 years that they were married, they camped in canvas tents, a tent trailer, campers and finally a cute little motor home. They travelled a little on a cruise and a trip to Hawaii, but always maintained that their home province had more than enough different locations to fill a lifetime of camping, so that's what they did!
Laura's hand at painting brought to life the beautiful butterflies, birdhouses and Loony Tunes figures that Ken cut out and built, and they shared their creations with all the family who expressed an interest.
The family had a great camping trip with Laura and Ken last summer at one of Laura's favourite camping locations, Felker Lake, and we look forward to having another family camping trip in her memory.
On June 25th we invite friends and family to join us in a celebration of her life downstairs at the Williams Lake Legion, from 2 PM to 4 PM.
