January 20, 1972 - June 17, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with a wounded heart that we announce the death of our son, our dad, our brother, our friend, Kirk Wayne Marchant. January 20, 1972 - June 17, 2024. Kirk was 52 years young.

Kirk is survived by his parents, his siblings and his 2 children, their respective families and loved ones.

Kirk will be remembered by all who knew him. He was an expert heavy equipment operator who began his career at age 7 in the construction yard at his father's place of work. Kirk was a master problem solver when it came to operating, wrenching or simply keeping the site moving along. Kirk also taught every young man he knew how to jump a company truck.

Kirk's number one hobby was wrenching on old vehicles. In his lifetime Kirk owned over 100 vehicles. In his youth he invented go carts and drew his own line of vehicles, so many in fact he called them the Tahukami Collection.

Kirk was funny and could spin an entertaining yarn; he would never sacrifice a great tale for the truth. He was a superb dancer and thrilled all the female seniors at weddings. He loved fishing and especially a good ole back roads adventure. Kirk also possessed a great compassion, empathy and respect for animals.

Kirk was full of living and experienced a rich life, full of both adventure and torture. Trauma in Kirks young life brought substance use to his doorstep. Addiction ensued, which lasted the bulk of his life. Kirk tried many times and many ways to kick his habit and what glorious interludes those were. In the end, the fentanyl poisoning that ended his life was the product of a reoccurring addiction disorder that was growing in severity and had it's claws too well imbedded in his brain and body.

The family will host a private Celebration of Life.
