January 13, 1949 - November 14, 2018
On November 14, 2018, Kenneth Richard Jansen passed away peacefully in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, at the age of 69. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 46 years Leslie Lamb and his siblings Foster (Maureen), Raeleen (Al), Gordon (Jadwiga), his sister in-law Sharon (Glen) and brother-in-law Richard (Carmen). He will also be missed by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ken grew up in Saskatoon where he attended Walter Murray Collegiate and the University of Saskatchewan. Ken's long involvement in Scouting was a major influence in shaping his character. In 1972 he and Leslie were married and in 1977 they moved to Kleena Kleene, BC where they hand built their log dream home and lived for 30 years. Ken was an active member of the community sitting on many boards and committees. He cleared most of their 116 acres for hay and raised feeder steers. He perfected his love of wood working and became a master cabinet maker. Many homes in the West Chilcotin and Tisdale display his beautiful craftsmanship.

Ken and Leslie volunteered in Papua New Guinea in the 80s and 90s, working in sustainable community economic development and education. Over five years in PNG, life long connections were made and various projects still stand today. In 2007, Ken and Leslie semiretired to Tisdale where Ken continued with his wood working until 2014.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2019. Memorial donations can be made in Ken's name to the Tisdale Hospital Women's Auxiliary at Box 784, Tisdale, Sask. S0E 1T0.
