It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Gordon Schwartz on February 10th, 2018 at the age of 84.

Ken was born in Rhein, Saskatchewan on February 18, 1933 where he was raised by his mother Rachel Liebrecht and his grandparents. He attended Luther College in Regina for his high school education and went on to study at the Teacher's College in Moose Jaw. He later obtained a B. Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of British Columbia.

He married the love of his life Loretta (nee Schaan) on October 9th, 1959. They started their lives together in Needles, BC where Ken taught high school but soon moved to Williams Lake where Ken was a teacher and counsellor at Williams Lake Junior Secondary School for over thirty years.

Ken enjoyed many outdoor activities and was a member of several conservation groups. He was on the committee that started Scout Island. During the summer many days were spent at Puntzi Lake fishing and relaxing. Curling was his main activity in the winter. After he retired he became interested in steam trains and helped build a model railway display for the Museum of the Cariboo Chillcotin where he gave many lectures on B.C. Rail.

Ken will be lovingly remembered and missed by his loving wife of Loretta, Rod and Eileen Peppler, Sandra and John Fritz, Dexter and Jeanne Harvey all of Manitoba; His sister-in-law Loraine and nephews Randy (Jackie) and Trevor Zimmer; Lifelong friends Erich Walter (Margaret, Chris, Valerie and Paul); And many other friends who enriched Ken's life throughout the years.

The family would like to thank special friends John and Donna Kobuz (and family) and Chris and Dorothy Hicks (and family) for your unwavering love and support.
