April 17, 1961 – July 21, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Kathryn Leona Walker announces her passing on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Chilliwack, British Columbia at the age of 58 years.
Kathryn was the first born to loving parents of Marvin Sr. and Jane Walker in Tisdale Township, Ontario on April 17, 1961. As a miner’s daughter, she was afforded the opportunity to live in many communities and thus sparked her love of travel. She attended high school in Ontario and then studied Criminology at Douglas College in British Columbia. Although Kathryn lived in many places, she spent the latter part of her life between Williams Lake and Chilliwack, BC.
Kathryn was a loving and dedicated mother, daughter, sister, and nana who cherished the moments spent with family.
Kathryn had the gift of making friends wherever she went. She was passionate about music being a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Surrey, BC and later a member of the Legion Marching Band in North Bay, Ontario. Kathryn was a Canada Cord Guide who enjoyed fishing as well as camping. She loved to crochet and create many different crafts. Her strong faith, compassion and empathy for others will be forever remembered.
Kathryn is survived by her parents Marvin Sr. and Jane Walker, sister Karalyn Walker, brother Marvin Jr. and his wife Bonnie Walker and their son Zachary. She is also survived by her three beloved children, David Smith, Andrew Smith, Kristelle and her husband Taelor Barrett and their daughter Ever and son Lauchlin, her grandchildren, as well as many adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Kathryn’s memory and love will be forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held on August 17, 2019 at 11 am at Cooke’s Presbyterian Church, 45825 Wellington Street in Chilliwack, BC
