September 26, 1955 - November 29, 2024
In Loving Memory ~
Bob passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024 surrounded by family. Bob was born September 26, 1956 in Sackville, N.B. He moved to Williams Lake in 1977 with his first wife Lorraine. He quickly found a job a Gibraltar Mines, where he worked for 15 years. In 1982 he was blessed with his daughter, Leah.
In 1993 he went to work for B.C. Forest Products (Tolko Industries), remaining there as a Maintenance Supervisor until he retired in 2020.
Bob met the love of his life Anita in 1998, they were married in 2003. They shared the love of camping and fishing and went on several trips to Bella Coola, Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii. They both enjoyed ice fishing at Chimney Lake, it was always a race to see who caught the first fish. People often said he could catch fish in a bathtub. He loved being outside either building or just cleaning up the property. His last big project was an outhouse.
Bob was very proud of his daughter, Leah and his 2 grandsons, Reece and Bayne. He taught them many things including his favorite songs and sayings. Much to Leah's dismay. There was always lots of humor.
After his retirement he took up leather work with the guidance of Paul De Niverville. Bob made many belts, valet trays, coasters, key chains and knife sheaf's for family and friends. He took to it naturally and enjoyed it immensely and did it right up to his passing.
Bob was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2022. He always tried to stay positive and to enjoy every day to the fullest. He did not let the disease get the best of him. He fought with courage and dignity. Bob and Anita would like to thank all the family, friends, doctors, nurses and homecare nurses for their support over the past 2 years to make his journey with ALS less painful.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the ALS Society of BC.
A celebration of life will be planned for Spring/Summer 2025.
