It is with profound sadness the family of Rick Pemberton announces his passing.
Rick joined his beloved wife Bev (predeceased in March 2022) on Valentine's Day.
Rick was born in England and immigrated to Canada as a young boy. He grew up on Vancouver Island and then moved to the mainland. Rick was a carnie for a while, then tended bar both before and after meeting the love of his life (Bev) and settling in Williams Lake. Rick later became a staple at the B.C. Liquor Store where he spent the majority of his career.
Rick was instantly recognizable, both for his height and his imposing demeanour. He was a loving family man. After raising their kids, Rick and Bev retired and set off to travel the world. They went everywhere, but nowhere was as perfect to them as the town they called home.
Rick lived a fulfilling life. He was a serious yet funny man. He loved flowers, books and country music. He was Ricky to his wife, Richard to his sisters Mary and Valerie, Dad to his kids Erin (Paul) and Kyle (Jing), and Papa to his four grandchildren.
As per Rick's wishes, an informal Celebration of Life is to be held on July 15 at Scout Island.
