Jean Iris Blair

March 25, 1922 - March 28, 2019
Iris passed away March 28, 2019 just 3 days after her 97th birthday.
Predeceased by her Parents, Bob & Janet Blair, brothers Jim, Alan & Ramsay,sisters-in-law Joy, Willi and Avril and niece Annie, she is survived by her brother Robin, Sister in Law Marjorie and many nieces & nephews and their children & grandchildren.
Born March 25, 1922 in Kamloops, Iris lived most of her life in Williams Lake, except for a few years in Vancouver.
She worked as one of the first Telephone Operators in Williams Lake and in 1954 she began working for Allfir & Regal Lumber Company and saw the operation progress through Merrill Gardner, Merrill Wagner to Weldwood from which she retired in November of 1985.
Iris volunteered with many organizations in Williams Lake, including the Royal Canadian Legion, the Hough Memorial Foundation, and the OAPO. She was a member of The Williams Lake Figure Skating Club and spent many years as a skating judge. She was also a lifetime member of Princess Pine Chapter 67, Order of the Eastern Star and made many life long friends within the organization. She was also a long time member of St. Andrews United Church.
Upon retirement Iris travelled extensively visiting many European countries, most of the Canadian provinces and many parts of the USA. She had and made many friends wherever she went.
The family would like to thank the Williams Lake Seniors Village for their care of Iris over the past few years. A special thanks goes to Janet Prosser, who was such a wonderful, caring friend and also many thanks to Charlotte Smiley. Iris was very lucky to have you as her friends.
