It is with sadness that we announce that our wife, mother and Oma, Hilda (Leger) Sauter passed away on July 26 2022. Hilda was born on May 10 1932 in Germany where she married Florian Sauter and together they had Eva Sauter (Navrot). In 1960 Florian, Hilda and Eva embarked on a great adventure to Canada. They started out in Comox Valley and after a couple of years moved to Port Alberni where they lived for 52 years.
In August of 2019 Florian and Hilda moved to Williams Lake to be closer to family. It was a big transition for them but they were happy to be around family, especially their great grand children Emett and Audrey. Great Oma spent many hours coloring with Emett and Audrey and teaching them about art. They also enjoyed tea time and arranging the stuffed animal family that great Oma loved.
Florian and Hilda were married for 68 wonderful years and she will be sorely missed by all, especially Florian. Hilda leaves behind Her husband Florian, daughter Eva (Al) Navrot, Grandson Lucas (Kelsey) Navrot, Grandson Casey (Shaunda) Navrot, Granddaughter Anna (Dimitri) Gotsopoulos, great grandchildren Emett and Audrey Navrot. Hilda spent the 5 weeks prior to her passing at the Williams Lake Seniors Village, we wish to thank the staff for their professionalism and kindness during her final time with us. She praised the village staff and was very content there.
There was a quiet gathering with family after Hilda's passing as she requested. RIP Hilda Sauter.
