March 17, 1958 - January 14, 2021
It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon on January 14 2021.
Gordon passed away peacefully at home. After a long and courageous battle with cancer and parkinson's. Gordon was born March 17 1958 in Kirkland Lake Ontario. He was the eldest of three children. He moved to Williams Lake in 1971 with his parents Dave and Doreen Smylie
He met his Wife Charlotte 1989. He moved to Frost Creek were Charlotte lived they were married for 32 years
He bought his trapline in the Frost Creek area this was something he had a passion for he also had loved fishing and hunting and trapping with his buddies. Gordon worked at Weldwood, Westfraser for 38 years until his retirement due to his illness.
Over the years he had great friendships with friends and coworkers. Gordon spent time in the lunchroom telling jokes and giving coworkers a bad time he loved making people laugh. Everyone called him by Smylie.
Gordon enjoyed walking with his black Lab Shakota through the bush trails on his old trapline. Gordon said He`s gone to a bigger Trapline, a better fishing hole and a better hunting ground, see ya there some day.
Gordon will be greatly missed but forever loved and remembered by his wife Charlotte his son Dustin (Melissa) and daughter Jennifer his stepchildren Brennan and Crystal (Dave) brother Jim (Melissa) his nieces Katy, Emma, Laura and his grandsons Rorik, Rylie, Liam step grandchildren Tyson, Alexis.
Gordon was predeceased by Dad Dave mother Doreen and sister susan
A Special thankyou to Dr E Labossieve and Nurses for Gordon special care at home.
No funeral service as to Gordons wishes.
