It is with great sorrow that the Robertson family announces the passing of Glynda Robertson (Snyder) on May 7, 2019.
Glynda began her life in Lethbridge, AB, born to Art and Jessie Snyder on February 10, 1951 and was the second of two children. Her family moved within Alberta several times as her father worked on or managed various farms. When Glynda was ten, they moved to BC., where they stayed and Glynda graduated from high school in Creston. She moved to an aunt and uncle's back in Lethbridge with plans to go to university and become a teacher.
As it often goes, plans changed and Glynda entered the bookkeeping world after moving back to BC. She was meticulous and well-loved by her Cranbrook clients, who were sad to see her move all the way to Dease Lake, at the other end of the province, to begin her time with the Ministry of Forests. Even though she was far from her home, she found her love and new family in Lauren. It's a good thing he was on that interview panel! They married in September 1999 and spent several happy years living and loving the northern community life. Glynda and Lauren spent much of their free time outdoors with fishing rods, quads or snowmobiles. They made wonderful friends and anyone with a baby was sure to be blessed with one of Glynda's beautiful crocheted baby afghans. They travelled the world during the winter, but Glynda's hands were always busy with crocheting or crosswords. Lauren and Glynda moved back to Williams Lake in 2004, much to the happiness of their families.
Glynda became a much loved mother to Lauren's grown kids and helped welcome four grandchildren into the world. She was the cornerstone of several large and small family reunions and will be remembered for her dedication, generosity and love for others.
Glynda is welcomed in Heaven by her mother (Jessie) and father (Arthur). She is survived by her loving husband Lauren, her step-son Ryan (Daphne), her step-daughter Kristin (Warren), her grandchildren (Zander, Niels, Heather, Katy), brother Cliff (Kate) and nephew Shaun (Chantal).
A memorial service will be held at St Andrew's United Church, 1000 Huckvale Place, Williams Lake, B.C., on May 25, 2019 at 2 pm.
